AUDITIONS for the
ATLANTA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CHORUS
(August 25-26, 2019)

The Grammy-winning ATLANTA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CHORUS performs large-scaled symphonic/choral works under the direction of Music Director, Robert Spano and Principal Guest Conductor, Donald Runnicles. CLICK HERE to view the choral concerts for the 2019-2020 season.

The ASO CHAMBER CHORUS, a select group of 60 singers drawn from the ASO Chorus, performs more intimate works - from the Baroque to modern periods under the direction of Robert Spano and ASO Director of Choruses, Norman Mackenzie.

All singers volunteer their services and are selected by audition. Requisites for auditioning include previous choral experience, music-reading ability and availability to meet the schedule. Rehearsals for the ASO Chorus are held on Monday evenings (7:30-10:00pm) throughout the concert season. On choral performance weeks, there are rehearsals or performances each night of the week, Monday through the final performance.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
• One Classical Solo (oratorio aria or art-song preferred - accompanist provided)
• Scales (major or minor, sung unaccompanied)
• Pitch Memory Drills
• Intervals
• Sight-Reading
• Short Written Theory Test
